Walking the forest in the rain is one of our favorite things. It's a magical time, a darker time, when the plants, trees, even the forest floor, put on a different wardrobe. This Western Sword Fern, for example, turns dark shiny green. We had only one on the property a year ago (we think). Now there are two more near it. That's a great thing. Polystichum munitum
