Spring races in even though snow from the big storm lingers in the coolest locations. These crocus, are no more than two inches tall. So small, so sweet, and so fleeting, especially since they pop up in the driveway.

What color combinations occur in nature! The oyster white of the blossoms' insides, the intense purple at the edges, all set off by the yellow-orange of the pistils (?). Fabulous. Elaine @ 03-06-2011
