Turkeys lay an average of one dozen eggs. Even with a low survival rate, it's no wonder turkeys are a problem. A hen lays an egg nearly every day until her nest contains 8-15 eggs. The eggs are about 2.5 inches long and take about 28 days to hatch. The two nesting females we found are fierce and committed to their nests, leaving rarely (but long enough to get this shot from a distance). Meleagris gallopavo

  • WOW! Incredible that you got so close as to see the turkey's eggs. T'will be great to see them when they're hatched!
