Etch the Sky

Etch the Sky

The arching and twisting Valley Oak branches, now long and bare, make a lacy etching set against the scudding clouds. I thought Wild Gulch would be only color photos until this one came along, reminding me there is a time and place for both. Quercus lobata

  • Breathtaking -- I love the contrast of the soft, billowy sky and the hard, black lines of the trees, as if they've been drawn by an angry child with a very black crayon. This sort of perspective is a beautiful reminder to take the time in my busy day to look up.

  • Lovely. The pattern, the movement. Nature is truly the finest of all artists! Great eye for the capture.

  • Lovely image. And a reminder to leave yourself open to all possibilities. Color ain't everything.
