Our Eastern Fall Palette
This is one of our few non-native trees. We think it's a Sugar Maple of some sort. It's old, probably planted by some of the earliest European settlers here As a result its now skinny top is scraggly and bare compared to the robust full rounded crowns of the Valley Oaks surrounding it. The maple definitely stands out as an Eastern tree, but each fall, it rewards us with sumptuous color.
