This time of the year male turkeys gobble to announce their presence to females and competing males. The gobble can carry for up to a mile. This guy had a harem of about a dozen females. They know we don't hunt them, but even so, they head in the other direction at the first sign of danger. Check out his fine beard (which is really just modified feathers). Meleagris gallopavo
