Natural Selection
The one that didn't make it...this is most likely a Great Horned Owl egg. It's huge, about 2 inches in length, and was originally white, but now had patches of dirt. Great Horneds usually take up residence in a stick nest left over from another bird, which we saw overhead, and they may nest as early as February. Bubo virginianus
