Sierra storms can be magical when you are safely tucked inside the house with the woodstove burning. They are fast, directed, and unrelentingly. In just 3-4 hours, even in the low-elevation foothills, at least 6 inches of snow poured out of the sky, first gently dusting, ultimately weighing heavy on the branches of the oak giants.
