The Band-Tailed Pigeons are around in abundance this year. They are North America's largest pigeon and are still fighting to have a strong presence after heavy hunting in the past century. Even more amazing is that the feather is still dry in early January. With a complete lack of rain or snow, the Sierra Nevada is the dryest it has been since 1964 when measurements were first taken.
