Milkweed Patch 2

Milkweed Patch 2

Bees and bugs are drawn to the waxy blossoms of the Showy Milkweed, but we haven't seen Monarchs - yet. Like the patch of Purple Milkweed, it gets bigger each year as the seed bank continues to expand. Native Americans loved this plant for its coarse fibers to make ropes and cords. They also pulverized the seeds to use as a healing agent. Asclepias speciosa
