These lupine grow on the edge of the meadows in somewhat shady places. I think they are Meadow Lupine, which likes riparian areas, even though they are not as tall as Meadow Lupine as described. These are about 12 to 24 inches tall. If anyone knows differently, please comment. Lupinus polyphyllus
