Poet's Butterfly
This earth-toned butterfly likes meadows and oak woodlands and is the Propertius Duskywing. The males perch on hilltop openings to await receptive females, and, yes, this one was spotted on a hilltop opening. Is that why this butterfly is named after a Latin poet?
