Woodland Wonder

Woodland Wonder

All trilliums are glorious, but the Giant Trillium, well, it's magical to happen across. This West Coast-only trillium grows in both oak woodland and the forest. Here in the woodland, it's surrounded by another favorite small shrub, snowberry. This plant is nearly 16 inches wide. Trillium chloropetalum

  • What a gorgeous plant. Don't believe I have ever seen one, despite lots of hiking in the Sierra. Very nice photo of an interesting subject.
