Eyes for You
Digging in moist soil or lifting rocks, I often unearth a little salamander, the Yellow-Eyed Ensatina. They can get defensive when disturbed apparently, and even secrete a noxious white fluid from their tail to repel predators, but I haven't seen that yet. The ones I've met are docile and timid.
