Harbinger of Season Change

Harbinger of Season Change

The arrival of Canadian Geese often signals the coming of fall. Though this group is just passing through, the geese can nest individually or in small groups and like sites on small ponds and lakes. They forage on grasses, sedges, and berries here. Branta canadensis

  • It's nice to think these Canada Geese still come south for fall since so many groups of them seem to make permanent homes here in Northern California. Wherever they are, they're beautiful.

  • Normally a shot of a few geese rooting around wouldn't capture my attention. But the water really makes this shot. Fantastic reflections and I particularly like the tone. Don't know if the lighting was like that, or you did it in post, but it is a very appealing color.
